Rupert Returns
Rupert is finally back in Lubbock! He stayed with my parents in Odessa just so I would not get distracted during finals week. My sister came back along with Rupert this evening and I was so grateful to have her return safe and take Rupert in my arms once again.
This was shot between 7:30 to 7:40 p.m. It has been a rainy weekend so the skies gave me a cool tone. If you live here in Texas you would take the rain as a great blessing since there has been a drought here since September of 2011. Hopefully all the dried lakes have been refilled and life is restored all across the land.
THIS SUMMER!

Clint & His Many Things
“You want some tea?” he asked me as I entered his small room. I looked around Clint’s living quarters, it was about the size of maybe an apartment room from New York; either way, it felt homey and described many of Clint’s interests. Hanging from his bunk bed is his hammock that he bought when I took him to a 20th anniversary sale from the local outdoor shop, Mountain Hideaway. I was impressed with his hammock setup and how he used the bunk bed (which he built himself) to store his drums, fridge, and tools to create more space. In the corner of his room stood his precious Mercier Kilo TT fixed gear which he put time and money into along with another complete road bike and a couple of mountain bike frames for future projects. On the other corner is his office complete with external monitor and studio quality stereo speakers. Previously working as a sound engineer, Clint introduced me to bands that he has helped when he lived in Houston.
Speaking of music, this is how we met. I finished one out of two gigs that night and was packing up for the second. Clint came up to me and commented on the performance saying he enjoyed the different sound. We had small talk and both realized we have a lot in common. A couple days later I contacted Clint if he would like to join me on a night bike ride around the city of Lubbock. He agreed and we met at the SUB building in Texas Tech University. Later through the night we joined a close friend of mine, Josh Aguas for some slack-lining and frisbee tossing at Wagner Park. From then on, I introduced Clint to many of my other friends and have been hanging out with him ever since.
If you look up from the bottom level of the bunk bed, a picture of earth from the moon’s surface is stuck between the panels of wood. I believe Clint looks up at this picture every night hoping to work for NASA and go out to explore the depths of space and beyond. He is a very intelligent person who uses everything he owns and brings it to its fullest potential.
